Editorial work has a sequence, and skipping a stage costs more than doing it. This is the order the work runs in, whichever entry from the catalogue you order.
Stage 01
You order online and upload your document. The scope, the extent and the price are confirmed in writing before any work starts.
Stage 02
Editing, correction or revision, depending on what you ordered. Anything ambiguous comes back to you as a query rather than a silent change.
Stage 03
You receive the edited file and mark it up. The revision rounds included in your order are carried out and checked against the agreed style.
Stage 04
Final text arrives by email in the agreed formats, together with the style notes, so whoever picks it up next is working to the same rules.
About
I'm Alessia Moro. I proofread, edit and prepare documents for the people who wrote them — reports, manuscripts, academic work, translated text and anything else that has to be right before it goes out. I work independently from Paris, in English, French and Italian.
Working across three languages teaches you quickly that an idea rarely survives being moved word for word. Most of my work is with text that is nearly right: correcting what is wrong, making consistent what is inconsistent, and leaving alone what is simply the author's own voice.
I would rather ask a question than guess at your meaning, so expect queries instead of quiet rewrites. And nothing leaves my desk half-finished — every document comes back checked, formatted and ready to use.
How this works
Scope
Written down first
Every order is confirmed with its extent, its revision rounds and its deliverable formats in writing. If a document turns out to be longer than the entry allows, you are told before the work starts, not invoiced afterwards.
Queries
Asked, not assumed
Where the intention of a sentence is unclear, it comes back as a query with a suggestion. Nothing about your voice is quietly rewritten on your behalf.
Rights
Entirely yours
You keep every right in your text. Nothing you send is used as a sample, published as a case study or shown to anyone else without your written permission.
Contact
